Snowfall intensifies: Schools closed in some provinces

The snowfall that has been affecting the country for some time has shifted to the northern and eastern regions. While the Meteorology Department issued a yellow code warning for 3 provinces, education has been suspended in some areas.

ORDU

It was reported that education would be suspended in some districts of Ordu due to snow. The Governor's Office stated in an announcement that there is a risk of frost and icing in the city due to snow and cold weather.

The statement indicated that education has been suspended in all schools in the Akkuş, Aybastı, Çamaş, Çatalpınar, Çaybaşı, Gölköy, Gürgentepe, İkizce, Kabadüz, Kabataş, Korgan, Kumru, Mesudiye, and Ulubey districts, and in some schools in the Altınordu, Fatsa, Gülyalı, Perşembe, and Ünye districts.

KASTAMONU

In Kastamonu, education was suspended in 3 districts due to adverse weather conditions.

In statements made on the social media accounts of the district governorships, it was reported that education was suspended in the İnebolu, Küre, and Şenpazar districts due to the snow and icing affecting the city.

GİRESUN

It was stated that education was suspended in some districts of Giresun due to snow.

In a written statement from the Governor's Office, it was noted that education was suspended at all grade levels in the Çanakçı, Dereli, Güce, and Yağlıdere districts due to the risk of snow and icing. The statement also recorded that education was suspended in town and village schools in the Giresun city center and the Bulancak, Doğankent, Espiye, Görele, Keşap, Piraziz, and Tirebolu districts.

BARTIN

In Bartın, due to icing following heavy snowfall, bused education in primary and secondary schools across the province was suspended for 1 day.

ARDAHAN

In Ardahan, education was suspended today in 4 districts due to snowfall and blizzards. The Provincial Directorate of National Education announced that education was suspended today in the Çıldır and Posof districts due to the continued impact of snowfall and blizzards across the city. In the Göle and Hanak districts, village schools and bused education were also suspended today.
