Ministry of National Education's individual education support amount for disabled individuals has been determined

The Ministry of National Education (MEB) has determined that the portion of support education provided to disabled individuals in special education schools and rehabilitation centers to be covered by the budget will be 4,692 Turkish Lira per month for individual education and 1,314 Turkish Lira per month for group education this year, excluding value-added tax (VAT).

INCREASED BY 49.1 PERCENT

According to information obtained from the MEB, there are 3,277 special education and rehabilitation centers affiliated with the ministry. Based on December 2023 data, 1 billion 991 million 933 thousand 364 Turkish Lira in education support was provided to 504 thousand 908 individuals in need of special education.

This year, the fee paid for 8 hours of individual education was increased from 3,147 Turkish Lira to 4,692 Turkish Lira, and the fee paid for 4 hours of group education was increased from 881 Turkish Lira to 1,314 Turkish Lira.

The fee to be paid to special education and rehabilitation centers for 8 hours of individual and 4 hours of group education for an individual with special needs was also increased by 49.1 percent compared to last year, rising from 4,028 Turkish Lira to 6,006 Turkish Lira.

With this rate, it is projected that a total of approximately 35 billion Turkish Lira will be paid this year for individuals in need of special education, amounting to 2 billion 800 million Turkish Lira per month.
