New circular from the Ministry of National Education to schools: 'Terror-Free Turkey' process to be taught throughout the academic year

The Ministry of National Education (MoNE) has sent a new circular to schools and institutions in 81 provinces ahead of the 2026-2027 academic year. The circular, published under the signature of Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin, outlines the steps to be taken in the field of education as part of the new PKK resolution process, which the government calls "Terror-Free Turkey."
The circular, titled "Procedures and Transactions Regarding the 2026-2027 Academic Year," was forwarded to provincial directorates of national education before the start of the new academic year on Monday, September 14, 2026. The Ministry stated that the regulation was prepared to ensure uniformity in educational activities, improve the quality of educational services, and manage educational environments in a safe, effective, and efficient manner.

ACTIVITIES WILL BE ORGANIZED THROUGHOUT THE YEAR
The circular states that the approach set forth by the "Law on Strengthening National Solidarity and Social Integration," in line with the "Century of Turkey" vision and the state's goals, will be one of the main objectives of the education and training processes.
In its statement, the Ministry indicated that it aims to raise students within the framework of the "fundamental principles of Turkish National Education" and the "Century of Turkey Education Model," with an emphasis on the concept of constitutional citizenship, the principle of equality, and national unity and solidarity.

According to the statement, various activities will be carried out in the first week of the 2026-2027 academic year and throughout the year in accordance with the implementation guides to be prepared by the Ministry. The content and implementation principles of these activities are expected to be determined by these guides.

The regulations in the circular set out the framework for how the process, which the government calls "Terror-Free Turkey," will be reflected in educational institutions, in addition to administrative preparations for the new term in schools.
