Published in the Official Gazette: Names of some faculties changed, new ones established

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's signed decree stipulates that the name of the Ibni Sina Faculty of Medicine affiliated with the University of Health Sciences has been changed to Bukhara Ibni Sina Faculty of Medicine; the Faculty of Islamic Sciences affiliated with Muş Alparslan University has been renamed the Faculty of Theology; the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences affiliated with Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University has been renamed the Teoman Duralı Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences; and the Institute of Finance affiliated with Istanbul Commerce University has been renamed the Institute of Trade and Finance.

It was decided to establish the Samarkand Faculty of Medicine, the Bukhara Ibni Sina Faculty of Dentistry, and the Bukhara Ibni Sina Faculty of Health Sciences in Uzbekistan, as well as the Sarajevo International Faculty of Medicine and the Sarajevo International Faculty of Dentistry in Bosnia and Herzegovina, all affiliated with the Rectorate of the University of Health Sciences.

The decree also included the closure of the School of Physical Education and Sports affiliated with the Rectorate of Bitlis Eren University, and the establishment of a Faculty of Sports Sciences in its place.

Furthermore, it was decided that the Trabzon Faculty of Medicine, currently under the Rectorate of the University of Health Sciences, will be transferred to the Rectorate of Trabzon University, and its name will be changed to the Faculty of Medicine.
