Referred to as the Boğaziçi trustee! Rector İnci's shameful 'camera' defense
Boğaziçi University Rector Naci İnci, while defending security cameras on campus, stated, "Female students lose their willpower after consuming alcohol and are subjected to abuse." The statement has drawn significant backlash from students and the public.
Rector Naci İnci, who is referred to as the Boğaziçi trustee, spoke to BBC Türkçe regarding the controversies at the university.

"OUR FEMALE STUDENTS' SAFETY IS AT STAKE"
Rector İnci stated, "Are there cameras everywhere on campus? There should be, absolutely. Our students, especially the safety of our female students, are at stake. Whether through clubs or their own friends, they consume alcohol, even if secretly. And of course, since female students have lower resistance, they lose their willpower and we have students who are subjected to abuse. For the safety of our students, it should be everywhere if possible. Then a girl comes forward, having been victimized; just imagine, that trauma never goes away for a lifetime."
A student who spoke to BBC Türkçe reacted to İnci's 'camera' defense as follows:
"You can put a defense behind every decision made. Honestly, I don't know when they last saw who was harmed by such an incident, or when they saw it. I haven't seen it myself, nor have I experienced it."
