Regulation for return to university on the way: Could cover 1,200 students

A study has been initiated to allow students who had to leave university due to health or family reasons while studying in high-cost departments, particularly medicine and dentistry, to return to their education in line with their requests. It is planned to take legal action based on the results of an impact analysis.

STUDENTS TOUR THE PARLIAMENT

A group of students who were dismissed from medical and dentistry faculties for various reasons visited political parties at the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye some time ago. The students, who also met with the AKP Group, expressed their desire to return to university and requested that a law be enacted on this matter.

IMPACT ANALYSIS PROCESS HAS BEGUN

Upon the students' report that they had to leave their education halfway due to health problems or family reasons, it was decided to conduct a study to determine the number of students in this scope. The Ministry of National Education was instructed to conduct an impact analysis to determine how many students left which departments of which universities in which years. Following this, a study was initiated at the Council of Higher Education.

According to the data to emerge from the impact analysis, it is foreseen that a legislative proposal will be prepared to enable students whose ties to universities were severed to continue their education.

COULD COVER APPROXIMATELY 1,200 STUDENTS

It is stated that approximately 1,200 students, particularly those studying in medical faculties, could benefit from the regulation, which is expected to come to the Parliament's agenda after the beginning of the year.
