Following the protocol signed between the Ministry of National Education (MEB) and Ülkü Ocakları, TÖBSEN announced that Ülkü Ocakları has entered schools across the country. According to TÖBSEN, visits were conducted in some schools with photos taken, seminars were held in others, and in some, bulletin boards were prepared under the name of Ülkü Ocakları.

TÖBSEN General Education Secretary Serkan Bebek made a statement regarding the issue. Bebek said, "We will take this to the judiciary to have this protocol canceled."

Bebek stated the following:

"A protocol was signed between the Ministry of National Education and Ülkü Ocakları, which is the youth organization of the MHP. According to this protocol, Ülkü Ocakları would be able to organize general vocational and technical courses within the scope of non-formal education. As TÖBSEN, we opposed this and said that just as ÇEDES is a project to bring sects and religious communities disguised as associations and foundations into schools, the protocol signed with Ülkü Ocakları is a concrete example of efforts to turn schools into propaganda areas for politics. We said the goal was to bring children together with Ülkü Ocakları and recruit them. We said that schools have turned into propaganda areas for political parties close to the government and places for sects and religious communities to find potential disciples.

The mask has fallen, the truth is revealed. So you might ask, what happened?

We see that in the Nilüfer district of Bursa, students created a bulletin board in schools in a pirate manner under instructions received from Ülkü Ocakları; in Adana, Ülkü Ocakları visited schools, met with students, took photos, and shared them on their pages; and in Torul, Gümüşhane, a vocational introduction program that could have been organized by the school was instead organized by Ülkü Ocakları at Torul Atatürk Secondary School, where propaganda for Ülkü Ocakları was conducted. What happened in Çorum and Osmancık clearly reveals the reality of the protocol made with Ülkü Ocakları and why it was done.

'WHAT IS THE PURPOSE?'

According to the protocol signed between Public Education and Ülkü Ocakları in Çorum Central and Osmancık, a substance abuse course is being provided to high school students by Osmancık Ülkü Ocakları and Çorum Ülkü Ocakları. Well, where is this course being given? It is being given inside the Ülkü Ocakları premises. They are providing this training to children inside the Osmancık Ülkü Ocakları, in a small area where there are photos of Bahçeli and Türkeş on the wall, where heating is provided by an electric heater hung on the wall, and where there is not even a projector device. We ask the Çorum Provincial Director of National Education and the Osmancık District Director of National Education from here:

While a seminar with the same title was given on January 10 by Çorum Ülkü Ocakları within the structure of Ülkü Ocakları at the Turgut Özal Conference Hall without a protocol with the Ministry of National Education, what is your purpose in deciding to hold a seminar with the same title 1 month later by signing a protocol with Ülkü Ocakları in areas within Ülkü Ocakları that are not suitable for holding seminars, and wanting to send students to Ülkü Ocakları?

With this reality before us, where heating is provided even by a heater hung on the wall, did you not have a conference hall affiliated with the Ministry of National Education where the seminar could be given, that you allowed the seminar inside Ülkü Ocakları?

You saw in the images that there were photos of Bahçeli and Türkeş and political books in the place where the seminar was given. Will you be held accountable for allowing this political propaganda directed at children in the background? Will the Governor's Office open the necessary investigation into those responsible?

While these seminars on addiction are given by the Green Crescent (Yeşilay) all over Turkey, what deficiency did the Çorum National Education and the Green Crescent Çorum branch feel that the need arose for this seminar to be given to students inside Ülkü Ocakları?

'WE WILL GO TO THE JUDICIARY'

The protocol signed is contrary to the law and they are clearly committing a crime. Similar protocols in the past have also been canceled by the judiciary. We will file a criminal complaint against the Çorum Provincial Directorate of National Education and the Osmancık District Directorate of National Education, and we will go to the judiciary to have this protocol canceled.

In the past, protocols signed with the Hazreti Süleyman Foundation in Diyarbakır, the İnsan Foundation in İzmir, and the Ensar Foundation in Antalya were canceled by court decisions. In the 2023 decision regarding the protocol made with the Hz. Süleyman Foundation in Diyarbakır, it was noted that education and training activities must be under public supervision and control and must be carried out by civil servants. Furthermore, it was stated that education and training activities cannot be carried out through institutions and organizations that are not of a public nature. In the 2020 decision in Antalya, the judiciary ruled in a similar way that public education, which is the duty of the state according to the Constitution, cannot be delegated. The Çorum Provincial Directorate of National Education and the Osmancık District Directorate of National Education cannot delegate public education to a foundation that is the backyard of a political party, and our children cannot be exposed to political propaganda and visuals in places unsuitable for seminars under the pretext of a seminar!

We also need to state this very clearly. If a foundation or association close to the opposition today were giving this seminar in this place where even heating is done with an electric heater hung on the wall, and if there were photos of İmamoğlu, Özgür Özel, and Atatürk on the wall, and this hit the press, the Çorum and Osmancık District Directors of National Education would have been dismissed from their posts and sent to the villages of Çorum as teachers by now. These protocols must be canceled immediately, and the Çorum Provincial Director of National Education and the Osmancık District Director of National Education must resign! The Ministry must initiate the relevant investigations, and those responsible must be punished."
