The Presidency of Religious Affairs has once again drawn attention with its massive expenditures in the first two months of 2025. Starting the year with a budget of 130.1 billion TL, the presidency spent exactly 22 billion 880 million 741 thousand TL during the 59-day period covering January and February. This figure is equivalent to the holiday bonuses of approximately 5 million 720 thousand retirees in Turkey.

APPROACHED 23 BILLION IN TWO MONTHS

According to financial data, the Presidency of Religious Affairs consumed 13 billion 430 million 10 thousand TL in January 2025 and 9 billion 450 million 731 thousand TL in February 2025. The total two-month expenditure reached 22 billion 880 million TL. This spending by the Diyanet in just two months has surpassed the budgets of many public institutions.

SURPASSED MANY MINISTRIES

The Diyanet's excessive spending exceeded the total expenditures of many ministries. The expenditures of some public administrations that remained behind the Diyanet in the January-February 2025 period are as follows:

Ministry of Foreign Affairs: 5 billion 278 million TL

Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources: 5 billion 178 million TL

Ministry of Trade: 6 billion 946 million TL

Ministry of Industry and Technology: 11 billion 563 million TL

Ministry of Culture and Tourism: 8 billion 525 million TL
