Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin made statements regarding the armed attack that took place near the İnci Üzmez Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in the Turgutlu district of Manisa.
Evaluating the nature of the incident during a broadcast he attended, Tekin stated that the attack in Manisa should not be defined in the same way as the previous attack in Kahramanmaraş.
"The attack in the province of Kahramanmaraş was a school attack. But the attack in Manisa should not be defined as a school attack. The attack did not happen in the school. The attack happened in front of the school."

Tekin also said that the allegations of peer bullying that emerged regarding the incident are being investigated. Stating that the attacker had recently enrolled in the school, Tekin said, “They say the child is experiencing peer bullying, but he has not had a school life where he would experience peer bullying. He was just recently enrolled in the school. The child mentions this in his initial statement.”
In the armed attack that occurred near the school in Turgutlu on September 22, 11 students were injured. It was announced that the condition of three of the injured was more critical than the others.
Following the incident, the 15-year-old suspect identified as the perpetrator, along with his mother, father, and grandfather, were taken into custody.
