Argument between IYI Party IMM candidate Buğra Kavuncu and a citizen: 'You will tolerate democracy'

IYI Party Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayoral Candidate Buğra Kavuncu arrived at Turgut Özal Secondary School in Eyüpsultan around 11:00 AM with his wife Hülya Kavuncu and daughter İlay Gökçe Kavuncu to cast his vote at ballot box number 2254.

After casting his vote with his wife and daughter, Kavuncu made statements in the schoolyard.

While he was making his statements, a woman reacted to Kavuncu for speaking in the schoolyard.

Kavuncu responded by saying, “Ma'am, I apologize. Please go cast your vote. Look, there is security here. We are following the law, order, and regulations. You will tolerate democracy.”

"THERE IS NO POINT IN MAKING THIS A SOURCE OF DISCOMFORT"

Kavuncu stated the following:

“Yes, on Sunday, March 31, despite all kinds of shouting, clamor, and pressure, we conducted a beautiful campaign process. We did not spoil our language. For our country, for democracy to prevail, many parties entered this race with us. They cannot even tolerate us making a press statement here, even though I have been in politics for many years. Almost every political party leader has made a press statement at the exit of the school where they voted. There is no point in making this a source of discomfort when one party does it while it is considered normal for others. May it be auspicious for our country and our nation. We will evaluate the results together this evening. It is very good that so many parties have competed. Many projects were discussed. Whatever the result for our Istanbul, it will be the decision made by the nation. I wish it to be auspicious in advance. Thank you very much.”
