Politics in Yozgat is heating up! AKP and MHP votes have melted away
Although the HBS Research poll conducted in Yozgat shows the AKP as the leading party, it has emerged that both the AKP and MHP have suffered significant losses in votes compared to the May 14 elections. The CHP drew attention by placing second with 26.3 percent.
Following the detention of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu on March 19, traffic fines were issued to farmers from Yozgat during the protests that began across the country. Subsequently, CHP leader Özel promised that he would pay the farmers' traffic fines.
After İmamoğlu's arrest, the CHP announced that it had decided to hold rallies in an Istanbul district on Wednesdays and in different provinces on Saturdays.
While the CHP's Yozgat rally made a big impact, the words of a farmer who had been fined, "You can't run a state with turnips and radishes," left their mark on politics.
CHP HAS CLOSED THE GAP
Following the rally, one of the first polls of May was shared with the public.
The survey conducted by HBS Research in April in Yozgat with 1 thousand people face-to-face included striking results.
While the AKP became the leading party with 30.4 percent, the CHP placed as the second party with 26.3 percent.
The vote shares of other parties are as follows:
MHP 10.6 percent
Undecided 8.4 percent
İYİ Party 6.3 percent
A Party 5.9 percent
YRP 5.4 percent
Victory Party (Zafer Partisi) 3.8 percent
Other 2.6 percent
DEM 0.3 percent
AKP AND MHP HAVE MELTED AWAY
In the May 14, 2023 elections, the AKP received 43.52 percent of the vote, while the MHP received 23.43 percent.
The vote share of the İYİ Party was 23.39 percent.
Compared to the May 14 elections, it was observed that the AKP lost 13.12 percent and the MHP lost 12.83 percent of their voter support.
