MHP deputy had called him a 'FETÖ member'! CHP municipal council candidate: I have never held any public office

MHP's Ersoy claimed that the events on election night were provoked by Yusuf Başok, a former specialist sergeant who he alleged was expelled from FETÖ. Ersoy further asserted that the attack against him was also carried out by Yusuf Başok, whom he again labeled a FETÖ member.

RESPONSE FROM BAŞOK TO ERSOY

Yusuf Başok, the CHP's candidate for the Pınarbaşı Municipal Council, responded to the allegations made against him by MHP Deputy Baki Ersoy.

Stating that Ersoy's claim that he was a 'specialist sergeant expelled from FETÖ' is completely untrue and a product of imagination, Başok said, "Not only have I never served as a specialist sergeant for a single day, but I have never held any public office, nor is there any situation regarding my expulsion from public service. However, just as they invented fabricated reasons to have the election we won canceled, they have put this completely fabricated scenario about me into circulation. The state's archives are open regarding the slander against me, and it is certain that this slander will be debunked with a simple inquiry. However, those looking for a cover for the shameful images they created on election night have fallen into a rush to clear their names by slandering me in this way."

Expressing his belief that the district election board's decision to renew the elections will be overturned by the provincial election board, Yusuf Başok said, "Even if this erroneous decision is not overturned by the provincial election board, it will be overturned by the Supreme Election Council. Despite all the shortcomings, I believe that Turkey is a state of law. Justice will be served, even if it is late."
