For the İzmir elections, the CHP nominated Karşıyaka Mayor Cemil Tugay instead of the incumbent İzmir Metropolitan Mayor Tunç Soyer.
The AKP, together with the MHP, nominated Hamza Dağ as the candidate for the People's Alliance.
