YSK rejects CHP's objection regarding Hatay Metropolitan Municipality

The Supreme Election Council (YSK) announced that it has rejected the objections filed by the CHP regarding Hatay following the March 31 Local Elections.

YSK rejects CHP's objection regarding Hatay Metropolitan Municipality

According to the unofficial results of the March 31 Local Elections, AKP candidate Mehmet Öntürk received 44.48 percent of the votes in Hatay Metropolitan Municipality, while CHP candidate Lütfü Savaş remained at 44.05 percent.

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel and the accompanying delegation, who met with YSK President Ahmet Yener yesterday afternoon, made a press statement upon leaving.

CHP Deputy Chairman Gül Çiftçi had raised allegations regarding deceased voters while noting the presence of invalid ballots.

CHP's Hatay Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidate Lütfü Savaş traveled to Ankara today for the YSK objection process.

Speaking in front of the YSK, Savaş stated, "We are waiting for the YSK to make a decision by this evening."

Finally, the YSK rejected the request for the renewal of elections in Hatay.

ARDAHAN AND IĞDIR DECISION

The YSK also rejected the AKP's request for the renewal of elections in Ardahan and Iğdır.

Furthermore, the YRP's request for the renewal of elections in the Aralık district of Iğdır was also rejected by the YSK.
