488,000 TL fine for 2 people caught harvesting salep bulbs!
In the Turgutlu district of Manisa, two individuals were issued a total administrative fine of 488,630 TL for harvesting salep bulbs, which are on the endangered species list and under protection.
During protection and control activities carried out by teams from the Manisa Provincial Branch Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks (DKMP) in the Turgutlu district, it was determined that two individuals had damaged biodiversity by uprooting salep bulbs, which are on the endangered species list and under protection.

In accordance with the Environmental Law No. 2872, an administrative fine of 244,315 TL was imposed on each individual, totaling 488,630 TL. The harvested salep bulbs were replanted in their natural habitat by teams from the Manisa DKMP Chief Office and gendarmerie personnel.
