AKOM issues heavy rain warning for Istanbul: Temperatures to drop

Following the hot weather in Istanbul, local downpours are expected on Sunday. The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM) has called on citizens to be cautious against potential rainfall that may affect the city.

According to AKOM's assessment, 2 to 5 kilograms of rainfall per square meter is forecast for Istanbul. Citizens are urged to take precautions against sudden puddles and potential disruptions to transportation that may occur during the rainfall.

According to meteorological forecasts, downpours will be seen in the northern parts of Turkey starting tomorrow. Thunderstorms are expected to be effective in the Marmara and Black Sea regions, and air temperatures are expected to decrease by 3 to 5 degrees.

In the Marmara Region, the rainfall is expected to lose its effect starting Monday. It is stated that after the rainy weather, temperatures in the region may rise above seasonal norms again.

In the Black Sea Region, the rainy weather is expected to continue until Wednesday.
