Alarming sight in Didim and Çeşme: Sea recedes 300 meters
Seawater has receded from the shore in the Didim district of Aydın and the Çeşme district of İzmir.
In Didim, where strong northeasterly winds (poyraz) have been effective, seawater has receded approximately 300 meters from the shore in some areas near Mavişehir, the Martı Sitesi, and the Fisherman's Shelter. Marshes and small islets have formed in the areas where the water receded.

FIRST TIME IN A LONG TIME!
Local resident Hüseyin Uslu stated that he has lived in the district for 41 years and that while there have been occasional recessions in the water during periods of strong northeasterly winds, he has not seen a scene like this in a long time.

SIMILAR SIGHT IN ÇEŞME
In the Çeşme district of İzmir, it was observed that waters had receded in coastal areas due to the strong northeasterly winds that have been effective for some time. The recession in the Alaçatı Port area reached approximately 300 meters.
It was also observed that the waters had receded in the Karşıyaka Azmağı, which is home to many birds.
Surfing instructor Çağla Kubat in the Alaçatı neighborhood said that the water recession, which happens almost every year, was observed to a greater extent this time.

Stating that they canceled training sessions this week due to the water recession, Kubat expressed that they are waiting for the water to return to its previous level.
Amateur fisherman Serhat Atlamaz stated that the recession has reached a serious dimension and that this situation negatively affects boat fishing.
