The General Directorate of Meteorology has published its weather forecast report for Sunday, December 15.

Accordingly, the country is expected to be partly to very cloudy, with intermittent precipitation expected in Marmara, the Aegean, the Western Mediterranean, Central Anatolia, the Western and Central Black Sea, and the surroundings of Mersin, Giresun, Trabzon, and Gümüşhane.

The precipitation is expected to be in the form of heavy rain and downpours in the south and east of Marmara, the Aegean coasts, the Western Black Sea coasts, and the surroundings of Manisa, Denizli, Burdur, and Antalya, and heavy sleet and snow in the surroundings of Bilecik, Uşak, Kütahya, Isparta, Eskişehir, Ankara, Çankırı, Bolu, Karabük, Kastamonu, and Çorum.

Icing and frost, along with haze and occasional fog, are expected in the interior and eastern parts of our country. There is a risk of avalanches on the high slopes of the interior of the Eastern Black Sea and the steep and sloping hillsides of the east of Eastern Anatolia.

Air temperatures are expected to rise by 2 to 5 degrees.

MARMARA

It is expected to be partly to very cloudy, with intermittent rain and downpours across the region, and sleet and snow in the surroundings of Bilecik. Precipitation is expected to be locally heavy in the south and east. The wind is expected to blow from southern directions, strong and occasionally reaching short-term storm levels (40-70 km/h) in the south of the region.
