A forest fire broke out on the morning of July 29 at the Sarıçiçek Plateau, located within the borders of Sarıkaya village in the Yapraklı district of Çankırı. Teams were put on high alert as the flames spread rapidly due to the wind.
STATEMENT FROM THE GENERAL DIRECTORATE OF FORESTRY
In a statement regarding the fire, the General Directorate of Forestry announced that the initial response was carried out rapidly and that teams are engaged in an intense struggle in the region.
According to the statement, 7 helicopters, 26 fire trucks, 4 construction machines, and 166 personnel are working in the field to bring the fire under control.
INTENSIVE AERIAL AND GROUND INTERVENTION
Helicopters intervening in the fire from the air are conducting effective extinguishing operations despite the rugged terrain conditions in the region. On the ground, fire trucks and construction machines have been deployed at critical points to prevent the fire from reaching residential areas.
