Change to milk and dairy products in the Turkish Food Codex: They cannot be sold in packages larger than 500 grams!
A change has been made to the Turkish Food Codex Communiqué on Fermented Dairy Products in order to prevent imitation and adulteration and to protect consumers. Accordingly, flavored and seasoned yogurts, as well as flavored and seasoned strained yogurts, can no longer be sold in packages larger than 500 grams.
According to the decision published in the Official Gazette today, it was noted that a change has been made to the Turkish Food Codex Communiqué on Fermented Dairy Products.
With this change, in order to prevent imitation and adulteration and to prevent the misleading of consumers, it has been prohibited to market fermented dairy products that have undergone heat treatment after fermentation, as well as flavored-seasoned yogurt and flavored-seasoned strained yogurt, in packages larger than 500 grams.
