Dead dolphins wash ashore in Istanbul and Ordu
In Istanbul's Şile district, a dead dolphin struck by a harpoon has washed ashore. Additionally, a dead dolphin has washed up on the Akyazı beach in the Altınordu district of Ordu.
Istanbul In Şile, a dolphin that had been struck by a harpoon by individuals attempting to fish in the sea has washed ashore.
The dolphin, which was found to have been harpooned and was dead, was removed by municipal teams. Adem Yıldız, who operates a business on the beach, said, "We encountered this last year as well, but further down the coast. It was harpooned and bloody just like this one."
ALSO WASHED ASHORE IN ORDU
A dead dolphin also washed ashore on the Akyazı beach in the Altınordu district of Ordu.
It was observed that the dolphin, estimated to be approximately 1.5 meters in length, had visible wounds.
Upon notification of the situation, Ordu Metropolitan Municipality teams arrived at the scene and removed the dolphin from the beach.
Citizens recorded the dead dolphin that washed ashore with their mobile phone cameras.
