A demolition order has been issued by the Muğla Governor's Office and the Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change for the hotel and timeshare construction located in the Kızılkum area of Marmaris' İçmeler neighborhood, which has not been halted for 2 months despite all objections.

The decision was conveyed to the Marmaris Municipality. A written statement was issued by the Marmaris Municipality.

The statement, which recalled that a fine of 104 million 757 thousand liras was imposed due to the unlicensed and illegal structures of the construction in the İçmeler neighborhood, Kızılkum area, that a demolition decision was taken, and that a criminal complaint was filed with the prosecutor's office against those responsible, included the following statements:

'THERE IS NO FINALIZED DEMOLITION ORDER YET'

"With the decision of the Muğla 3rd Administrative Court, the 17 main building permits issued for the 1st and 2nd phases have been cancelled. With the initiative taken by the Marmaris Mayor's Office, the 16 renovation building permits issued for the 1st and 2nd phases and the 25 main building permits issued for the 3rd phase have been cancelled ex officio. Furthermore, the Occupancy Permit issued for the 1st phase has been cancelled ex officio by our Mayor's Office without any court order."

There is no finalized demolition order yet. It is of great importance to act in accordance with the final court decision in order to prevent irreparable damages in the future. The Mayor's Office is meticulously monitoring the demolition process, and tender procedures for a possible demolition have been initiated. Our Mayor's Office is acting very sensitively regarding these construction activities that deeply affect the conscience of the public. Administrative sanctions and procedures are being carried out meticulously."
