In recent days, air temperatures across Turkey have been well above seasonal norms.

A summer-like atmosphere prevails, especially in Istanbul and many other cities.

TEMPERATURES IN ISTANBUL WILL REACH 27 DEGREES

In the megacity of Istanbul, thermometers will show 27 degrees on Saturday.

In Ankara, temperatures are expected to continue rising over the weekend, reaching 29 degrees on Sunday.

The Mediterranean coast is also getting its share of the warm weather. Temperatures along the Adana and Antalya line are estimated to range between 25 and 30 degrees.

TEMPERATURES WILL DROP SUDDENLY: A 22-DEGREE DIFFERENCE!

However, this warm weather will suddenly give way to cold and rainy weather with the new week.

The air temperature in Istanbul, which will rise to 27 degrees on Saturday, will drop to just 5 degrees by Wednesday.

NTV Meteorology Editor Dilek Çalışkan said, "Let's get our scarves, gloves, and coats ready again for the coming week. There will be a very rapid drop in temperature."

Stating that the cold wave will enter via the Black Sea and first affect the western regions, Çalışkan added, "Snowfall is expected in many parts of the country on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday."

SLEET EXPECTED IN ISTANBUL

Noting that the precipitation could fall as snow in the Marmara, Aegean, Black Sea, and Central Anatolia regions, Çalışkan said, "A strong northeasterly wind (poyraz) will be effective in Istanbul. Sleet is expected, but there is also a possibility of snowfall. Of course, it is too early to speak definitively right now; we can provide clearer information on Monday."
