Duration of night water cuts extended in İzmir: To be implemented in 13 districts
Night water cuts, which have been ongoing in İzmir since the beginning of summer, have been extended until December 15 due to dwindling resources. The planned program covering 13 districts in the city will continue as before.
The duration of planned water cuts, which began on August 6 due to falling water reserves in İzmir, has been extended until December 15. In an announcement made by the İzmir Water and Sewerage Administration (İZSU), it was stated that the practice will continue in 13 districts experiencing high consumption.
It was stated that the cuts will be carried out in two different groups on a district basis.
In the first group, which includes Çiğli, Karşıyaka, Bayraklı, Bornova, Menemen, Gaziemir, and Menderes, the cuts will begin at 23:00 and end at 05:00 on even-numbered days between November 28 and December 14.
In the second group, which includes Konak, Karabağlar, Buca, Balçova, Narlıdere, and Güzelbahçe, water will not be available during the same time interval on odd-numbered days between November 29 and December 15.
In the city, the cuts implemented between 23:00 and 05:00 since August 6 due to the drop in water levels were initially carried out every 3 days, but were increased to every 2 days after September 9.
