In the village of Tatlısu in Erzincan, an endangered edible dormouse was spotted on the wall of a house and recorded with a mobile phone camera.
Erzincan's Tatlısu village saw an endangered edible dormouse spotted on the wall of a house.
Expatriate Serdar Yıldırım and his family, who had come to the village for their summer vacation, saw an animal on the wall while sitting in their garden.
At first, they thought it was a mouse and wanted to remove it from the house with a broom. However, when they realized the animal was not a mouse, they began to record it with their mobile phones.

As a result of research, it was revealed that the creature they saw on the wall was a rare edible dormouse. Serdar Yıldırım said the following regarding the incident: "Our house remains closed throughout the winter. When we came and opened it in the summer, we encountered this surprise. At first, we thought it was a mouse and tried to chase it away. However, when we realized it was a different species, we decided to record it with a mobile phone. When we sent the footage to friends who understand these things, we learned that it was an edible dormouse."

The edible dormouse is among the creatures rarely seen in the world and in need of protection. The sighting of such a species in Erzincan has also sparked interest in the scientific community.
