Fines imposed on companies polluting the environment in Bolu
During inspections conducted by the Bolu Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, administrative fines of varying amounts were imposed on 3 companies.
According to the statement made by the Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, it was stated that as a result of the "odor measurement" carried out at the slaughterhouse of a poultry production facility near Doğancı village, an administrative fine of 38 thousand liras was imposed on the company in accordance with the relevant article of the Environmental Law.
The statement noted that the same factory was fined 464 thousand 580 liras on the grounds that inspection samples taken from the outlet of the slaughterhouse's treatment plant in July did not meet the required standards, and it was stated that a Continuous Wastewater Monitoring System (SAİS) was installed at the outlet of the wastewater treatment plant of the poultry factory near Vakıfgeçitveren village.
The statement also reported that the facility, which was fined 3 million 484 thousand 704 liras this week for discharging its wastewater into the stream without entering the treatment system, was also fined 929 thousand 170 liras after the SAİS detected that wastewater was discharged without sufficient treatment in July and August.
SAMPLE RESULTS OF THE HATCHERY FACILITY'S WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT
The statement expressed that an administrative fine of 464 thousand 585 liras was imposed and a criminal complaint was filed with the prosecutor's office because the samples taken on July 26 from the outlet of the wastewater treatment plant of the hatchery facility belonging to the same company yielded negative results, and it was stated that inspections regarding the company in the Gerede district, which had previously been fined 2 million 323 thousand 136 liras and reported to the prosecutor's office, are ongoing.
Furthermore, it was reported that based on the finding that the average limits were not met in samples taken from the treatment plant outlet for 3 consecutive days on July 8-9-10, 2024, within the scope of the Environmental Permit Application, an administrative fine of 1 million 393 thousand 755 liras was imposed on the firm due to this violation being repeated 2 more times in the last 3 years.
The statement also mentioned that upon the written notification of the Dörtdivan District Police Department, an administrative fine of 141 thousand 951 liras was imposed on those who burned stubble in an area of 73 thousand 400 square meters in Çavuşlar Neighborhood.
