Forest fire in Kozan, Adana: Roads closed, homes evacuated as a precaution
Efforts are underway on the ground and from the air to combat a forest fire that broke out in the Kozan district of Adana.
A fire broke out for an as-yet-undetermined reason during the night in a forested area in the Köseli neighborhood.
Upon notification, teams from the Regional Directorate of Forestry, along with 3 helicopters, 2 aircraft, 50 fire trucks and water tankers, 5 pieces of heavy equipment, and a large number of personnel were dispatched to the region.
Kozan District Governor Bahattin Alp Arslanköylü stated in his remarks to an AA reporter, "It is a fire that started during the night. The teams' ground intervention is ongoing. With the break of dawn, aerial intervention is also continuing."
Arslanköylü said that some homes were evacuated as a precaution due to the fire.
