Turkey is coming under the influence of a new rainy weather system. According to the latest forecasts from the Turkish State Meteorological Service, rainy weather will prevail over the south and east of Marmara, the Aegean, the Mediterranean, Central Anatolia, the Black Sea, and a large part of Eastern Anatolia.

Rain showers are expected in Istanbul on Wednesday, while snowfall will be effective on Thursday.

Light snow is expected in Ankara on Wednesday, with the precipitation expected to intensify on Thursday.

In Izmir, the temperature will drop from 17 degrees to 8 degrees.

Sleet and snowfall will be seen on the coasts of the Western and Central Black Sea.

RAPID DROP IN TEMPERATURES

Due to the cold air wave coming from the north, temperatures will decrease by 4 to 10 degrees. A significant cooling will be felt, especially in the northern, inner, and western regions. Temperatures are expected to drop to 6-7 degrees in Istanbul and fall below zero in Ankara. In Eastern Anatolia, temperatures are estimated to drop 6 to 12 degrees below seasonal norms.
