Good news for Istanbul residents: Rain is coming

Turkey is burning under the influence of 'eyyam-ı bahur' heatwaves. The extreme heatwave coming from Africa continues to have an impact in many regions, primarily in Central Anatolia and the Aegean. In the country, where thermometers show up to 55 degrees in some places, temperatures are hovering above 40 degrees.

While light winds increase the effect of the temperatures, according to experts, this stifling weather will continue in Anatolia for at least three more days.

LATEST STATUS IN 5 MAJOR CITIES

In Istanbul, the temperature is hovering around 35 degrees. It was measured at 40 degrees in Ankara and 37 degrees in Bursa.

In İzmir, the humidity rate, which increases with the southwesterly wind (lodos), pushes the felt temperature up to 42 degrees.

In Antalya, the felt temperature reached 43 degrees due to the humidity rate, which reached 80 percent during the noon hours.

RAIN IS COMING TO MARMARA

Although the weak winds in the Marmara Region increase the effect of the hot weather, the weather in the region will provide some relief starting tomorrow. While the temperature is measured at 37 degrees in Edirne, 40 in Balıkesir, and 37 in Kocaeli, cooling will begin across the region and there will be occasional rain showers.
