Ice on the surface of Lake Balık has begun to melt

Lake Balık, located approximately 30 kilometers from the Taşlıçay district, welcomes visitors in every season as one of the most important tourism destinations in the Eastern Anatolia Region with its natural beauty.

Lake Balık, which is frequently visited by those who want to get away from the noise of the city and spend time alone with nature during the warm summer months, remains covered in ice for half the year due to the harsh winter season in the region.

THE ICE HAS THAWED

Lake Balık, situated at an altitude of 2241 meters and whose surface freezes completely during the winter months due to the freezing cold, has begun to thaw as the weather in the region has started to warm up.

While half of the ice on the lake, which draws attention with its islands, bird and fish species, and untouched nature, has melted, the thawing process continues in the remaining part.

The lake, where migratory birds have begun to arrive, and the surrounding snow-capped mountains were captured by drone.
