Increase in occupancy rates of Istanbul dams

According to data from the Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration (İSKİ), the amount of water in the dams and ponds that supply water to the city, which have a maximum storage capacity of 868 million 683 thousand cubic meters, was recorded at 720 million 36 thousand cubic meters.

Water levels were measured at 93.05 percent in Ömerli, 81.61 percent in Darlık, 87.21 percent in Elmalı, 91.68 percent in Terkos, 59.44 percent in Alibey, 77.53 percent in Büyükçekmece, 62.53 percent in Sazlıdere, 55.92 percent in Istrancalar, 82.62 percent in Kazandere, and 80.96 percent in Papuçdere.

This year, 235.25 million cubic meters of water were received from Melen and Yeşilçay.

While the amount of water supplied to the city from drinking water treatment plants this year was calculated at 393 million 29 thousand cubic meters, the amount of water supplied to Istanbul yesterday was recorded as 3 million 3 thousand cubic meters.

OCCUPANCY RATES OF THE LAST 10 YEARS

According to İSKİ statistics, the dam occupancy rates for May 12 were recorded as 30.26 percent in 2014, 94.72 percent in 2015, 82.29 percent in 2016, 85.54 percent in 2017, 88.22 percent in 2018, 89.73 percent in 2019, 69.15 percent in 2020, 77.73 percent in 2021, 85.73 percent in 2022, 49.42 percent in 2023, and today's rate was recorded as 82.93 percent.
