Due to the expected storm and heavy rainfall in Istanbul, AKOM has called on citizens to be cautious. It was stated that temperatures will drop by 10 degrees and localized hail may occur.
The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM) has issued important warnings regarding the weather conditions that will affect the city. It was reported that starting from noon today, the wind will strengthen into a storm and localized hail may be seen.
The statement indicated that intermittent heavy rain and thunderstorms will be effective starting from regions such as Silivri, Çatalca, and Arnavutköy until Tuesday evening. Temperatures, which are expected to reach up to 25 degrees today, are estimated to drop to 15-17 degrees.
ATTENTION TO STORM AND HAIL RISK
In AKOM's statement, it was emphasized that strong rainfall and storms will be effective on the European Side, around the Bosphorus, and on the Anatolian Side starting from the evening hours. "It is estimated that during the storm expected to affect every region of Istanbul and the subsequent strong thunderstorms, local hail events may occur in addition to lightning strikes. For this reason, it is important for our citizens to be careful and take precautions," the statement said. It was noted that citizens should be prepared for these weather conditions.
