The dry summer experienced across Turkey had caused concern in Istanbul, where 16 million citizens reside.
An improvement has been observed in dam occupancy rates, which had fallen to the 16 percent level due to seasonal effects.
According to the January 21 data from the Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration (İSKİ), the average occupancy rate of the dams was 61.05 percent.

- Papuçdere Dam 28.79 percent
- Sazlıdere Dam 43.04 percent
- Büyükçekmece Dam 52.05 percent
- Alibeyköy Dam 70.3 percent
- Terkos Dam 50.57 percent
- Kazandere Dam 50.68 percent
- Elmalı Dam 87.88 percent
- Darlık Dam 75.92 percent
- Istrancalar Dam 44.84 percent
