According to the forecasts made by the General Directorate of Meteorology: The country is expected to be partly to very cloudy, with intermittent precipitation expected in the Marmara region, Eastern Mediterranean (except Mersin), the eastern part of Central Anatolia, the Western Black Sea, the coasts of the Central Black Sea, the Eastern Black Sea, Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia, as well as the surroundings of İzmir, Manisa, Kütahya, Eskişehir, Ankara, and Tokat.

The precipitation is expected to be in the form of rain and showers, with occasional thunderstorms in the southern parts, and sleet and snow in the inner parts of the Western Black Sea, the eastern part of Central Anatolia, the northeast of Eastern Anatolia, and the surroundings of Bilecik, Kütahya, Eskişehir, and Ankara. The precipitation is expected to be locally heavy in the Western Black Sea and the surroundings of Sakarya after nightfall.

The wind is expected to blow as strong winds and storms (50-80 km/h, 90 km/h in higher elevations) in the eastern part of Eastern Anatolia, Southeastern Anatolia, and the surroundings of Elazığ and Hatay. Dust transport is expected in the southeast of Eastern Anatolia and the Southeastern Anatolia region.

It was stated that air temperatures will decrease by 3 to 5 degrees in Marmara, while no significant change is expected elsewhere.

YELLOW ALERT FOR 29 CITIES, ORANGE ALERT FOR 2 CITIES

In the MGM report, a yellow alert was issued for 29 cities and an orange alert for Van and Hakkari.

Following the meteorological report, AFAD also issued important warnings to citizens.

In the statement made by AFAD, it was stated that strong winds and storms are expected today in the eastern part of Eastern Anatolia, Southeastern Anatolia, and the surroundings of Elazığ and Hatay.

The statement emphasized that the precipitation, which has been continuing as rain and showers in the eastern part of Central Anatolia since Wednesday afternoon, is expected to be locally heavy in the surroundings of Niğde, Kayseri, and Sivas, and turn into sleet and snow during the night hours, and noted the following:

"It is expected to be locally heavy snow until Thursday morning across the province of Niğde and in the south and east of Kayseri and Sivas, and the precipitation seen in the Eastern Black Sea is expected to be heavy across the province of Ordu and in the north and east of Tokat after Wednesday morning, and in the surroundings of Giresun, Trabzon, and Rize, as well as the north of Gümüşhane and the west of Artvin after the afternoon, in the form of locally heavy rain and showers on the coastline, and heavy and occasionally intense snow in the inner parts."

The statement reported that according to the latest information received from the General Directorate of Meteorology, a "yellow" precipitation alert was issued for 29 provinces today, and an "orange" alert for Hakkari and Van.

Stating that the governorships of the provinces in question have been informed, the statement said, "Citizens living in provinces under an orange alert have been informed via SMS. We strongly remind our citizens to be careful and take precautions against negative conditions such as floods, water inundation, lightning, strong winds and storms during precipitation, tornadoes, disruptions in transportation, roof detachment, poisoning caused by stoves and natural gas, and avalanches in places with high snow cover, and to take the warnings of the authorized bodies into account."

MARMARA

It is expected to be partly to very cloudy, with intermittent precipitation across the region. The precipitation, expected to be generally rain and showers, and sleet and snow in the higher elevations of the southeast after nightfall, is expected to be locally heavy in the surroundings of Sakarya.
