According to the forecasts made by the General Directorate of Meteorology: The northeastern parts of our country are expected to be partly to occasionally very cloudy, with local showers and thunderstorms expected in the afternoon in the vicinity of Ardahan, the inland and high parts of Giresun, Trabzon, Rize, and Artvin, and the northern districts of Kars, while other places are expected to be slightly cloudy and clear.

Air temperatures are expected to continue to hover above seasonal norms across our country. The wind is generally expected to blow from northerly directions, light to occasionally moderate.

Meteorology Expert Prof. Dr. Orhan Şen stated in a post he made yesterday that air temperatures in Istanbul would reach record levels and called on Istanbul Governor Davut Gül to move working hours earlier.

Şen used the following expressions in his post on his X account:

"Beware of heat strokes today and tomorrow. Tomorrow is the hottest day in Istanbul. Due to the heat island effect, extreme heat will continue until the end of the workday. Tonight will be the hottest night at 27C. Records may be broken in the southern districts of Istanbul during the day. 38-40 C.

Do not go out tomorrow. If our Governor moves the working hours earlier tomorrow, we can get through this before it turns into a disaster."
