Occupancy rates for dams in Istanbul announced
According to İSKİ data, the occupancy rate of the dams supplying water to Istanbul has risen above 80 percent following recent rainfall.
The Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration (İSKİ) has reported that the intermittent rainfall affecting the city has increased the water occupancy rates in the dams.
As of today, the occupancy rate in the dams was measured at 80.03 percent.
The water volume was recorded as 65.45 percent in Istrancalar, 82.46 percent in Terkos, 59.35 percent in Sazlıdere, 70.49 percent in Alibey, 75.84 percent in Büyükçekmece, 88.95 percent in Ömerli, 86.35 percent in Darlık, 89.54 percent in Elmalı, 74.67 percent in Pabuçdere, and 75.91 percent in Kazandere.
The amount of water in the dams and ponds that supply the city, which have a maximum storage capacity of 868 million 683 thousand cubic meters, was measured at 695 million 25 thousand cubic meters.
OCCUPANCY RATES FOR THE LAST 9 YEARS
According to İSKİ statistics, the dam occupancy rates for March 23 were 87.16 percent in 2016, 89.63 percent in 2017, 89.61 percent in 2018, 94.11 percent in 2019, 63.99 percent in 2020, 66.84 percent in 2021, 88.63 percent in 2022, and 37.02 percent in 2023, while today's rate was recorded as 80.03 percent.
