Population in the famous holiday destination Çeşme nears 1 million
Due to the 9-day Ramadan holiday, hotels in Çeşme reached 100 percent occupancy, and the world-famous Ilıca Beach also saw heavy crowds. With holidaymakers flocking to the tourism paradise of Çeşme, the population has neared 1 million.
Çeşme became a favorite for holidaymakers during the 9-day holiday.
While reservations reached 80 percent just before the start of the holiday, occupancy hit 100 percent on the second day of the holiday.
The Çeşme Police Department and Çeşme Gendarmerie Command teams have also taken additional measures to maintain peace and security in Çeşme, where the population has neared 1 million.
200 security personnel in the police zone and 90 in the gendarmerie zone are on duty throughout the holiday to ensure public order and peace.
ILICA BEACH PREFERRED
While long vehicle queues formed at the entrances to the Çeşme and especially Alaçatı highways, security teams offered cologne and candy to holidaymakers.
On the other hand, many holidaymakers who took advantage of the sunny weather preferred to sunbathe and swim at the famous Ilıca Beach.
A high density is also expected in Çeşme during the 13th Alaçatı Herb Festival, which will begin after the holiday on April 18 and continue until April 21.
