Sold for 8,000 TL per kilo, demand cannot be met!

In the Mut district, where Turkey's earliest plum harvest takes place, plums grown in greenhouses are finding buyers at high prices. Farmer Mustafa Yılmaz stated that he sells the plums he produces in his greenhouse for 8,000 TL per kilo, saying, "There is intense demand from abroad, but I cannot meet it because my production capacity is not enough."

Stating that they have carried out the first harvest, Yılmaz said, "If we had produced in an open field, we could only have made the first harvest in mid-April. However, thanks to the greenhouse, we have significantly brought the process forward. We have about 40 greenhouses in the region, but this number needs to increase. Because export demand is quite high and we are struggling to keep up with the requests," he said.
