The incident occurred in the Akbez neighborhood of Hassa district. During a road control and search operation conducted by Gendarmerie teams in the Akbez neighborhood, 4,000 endangered goldfinches were seized inside a vehicle driven by a foreign national suspect.
The birds were handed over to the Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks and were released into the wild under the coordination of the directorate. Regarding the incident, the Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks imposed an administrative fine of 5 million 600 thousand TL on the suspect.
