According to a report by Thai PBS, air pollution in the country's tourism hub has approached the upper limit of the 151-200 range, which signifies "unhealthy" levels according to the Air Quality Index (AQI).

According to current data from the AQI website, which measures air quality, Chiang Mai has become the city with the most polluted air in the world with a score of 195.

BANGLADESH CAPITAL RANKS SECOND

The capital of Bangladesh, Dhaka, ranked second with 184, China's capital Beijing third with 166, Cambodia's capital Phnom Penh fourth with 163, and India's capital New Delhi fifth with 160.

The Thai Pollution Control Department stated that air pollution in a total of 8 regions, including Chiang Mai, has reached levels that will negatively affect human health.

AIR POLLUTION INVESTIGATION TO BE CONDUCTED FOR 4 DAYS

A research team from NASA, in collaboration with the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency under the Thai Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, will conduct air pollution investigations in Thailand for 4 days.
