The sky turns gray in İzmir as desert dust settles over the city like fog
As desert dust arriving from Africa settled over İzmir like a cloud of fog, the color of the sky changed, and the two sides of the city were barely visible from the sea.
The General Directorate of Meteorology had issued a warning that dust transport originating from Africa could be effective in certain regions of the country.
The desert dust, which has been intermittently affecting the area for the last month, has once again descended upon İzmir like a nightmare. From the early hours of the morning, even the sunrise was obscured, and the color of the sky turned gray.
The desert dust, which caused the two sides of the city to be difficult to see, increased visibly toward noon.
VEHICLES COVERED IN DIRT
On the other hand, vehicles were covered in mud due to the effect of the desert dust and light rain.
It was observed that thousands of vehicles were dirtied by the impact of the dust. Experts on the subject are warning citizens that desert dust poses serious health risks.
