Time set: AKOM issues heavy rain and storm warning for Istanbul
The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM) has announced that heavy rain is expected across the city over the weekend, with storms forecast until Sunday morning.
According to the statement made by the IBB-affiliated AKOM, a large part of the country, especially Istanbul, has once again come under the influence of cold and rainy weather.
Intermittent heavy rain is expected in Istanbul starting from 18:00.
Due to the rainy system expected to be effective until Sunday morning, the wind is forecast to blow as a storm at intervals, accompanied by locally strong downpours across the city.
Temperatures are estimated to hover between 14-18 degrees.
In Istanbul, air temperatures are expected to remain around seasonal norms or 2-4 degrees below until May 14, and between May 15-25, they are expected to be around seasonal norms or 1-3 degrees above.
