Fire in Ataşehir's Küçükbakkalköy: Transformer exploded

A fire broke out around noon today at the Kastelli Blocks located in the Küçükbakkalköy neighborhood of Istanbul's Ataşehir district. According to initial findings, the cause of the fire was the explosion of a transformer located within the complex.

VEHICLES IN THE PARKING LOT COULD NOT BE REMOVED

Following the fire, heavy smoke filled the underground parking lot of the Kastelli Blocks. According to eyewitness accounts, the flames spread quickly, and it was reported that the vehicles inside could not be removed. While the fire caused panic, residents of the building were quickly evacuated.

FIREFIGHTING CREWS ARE AT THE SCENE

Upon notification, numerous firefighting and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. While the crews are making intense efforts to bring the fire under control, security measures in the surrounding area have been increased.
