Yellow alert from Meteorology for 14 cities including Istanbul: Downpours and storms are coming!

The General Directorate of Meteorology has issued warnings for heavy rain and thunderstorms for numerous cities, including Istanbul, Izmir, and Ankara. A yellow alert has been issued for 14 provinces, with heavy rainfall expected in some regions and winds blowing at 40-60 km/h along the coasts of the Marmara and North Aegean. Air temperatures are expected to drop by 3 to 5 degrees in the Marmara, Aegean, and Mediterranean regions.

According to the latest assessments by the General Directorate of Meteorology: The country is expected to be partly to very cloudy, with local downpours and thunderstorms expected across the country, specifically in the Marmara (except Edirne), Aegean, Mediterranean, Central Anatolia, Black Sea regions, as well as the surroundings of Erzincan, Tunceli, Elazığ, Muş, Erzurum, Kars, and Ardahan. Rainfall is expected to be locally heavy in the Southern Aegean, Western Mediterranean, western parts of Central Anatolia, the surroundings of Istanbul, Kırşehir, Yozgat, Kırıkkale, Çorum, and Bolu, as well as the northern parts of Kocaeli and Balıkesir, and the eastern parts of Çanakkale.

Air temperatures are expected to decrease by 3 to 5 degrees in the Marmara, Aegean, and Mediterranean regions, with no significant changes expected elsewhere.

The wind is expected to blow lightly to moderately from southern directions in the northern, southern, and eastern parts, and strongly (40-60 km/h) from northern and northeasterly directions along the Marmara and North Aegean coasts.

YELLOW ALERT FOR 14 CITIES

In the Meteorology report, a yellow alert was issued for 14 provinces, including Istanbul and Izmir.

Afyonkarahisar, Antalya, Aydın, Balıkesir, Burdur, Çanakkale, Denizli, Isparta, Istanbul, Izmir, Kocaeli, Manisa, Muğla, and Uşak

It is expected to be partly to very cloudy, with local downpours and thunderstorms across the region (except Edirne). Rainfall is expected to be locally heavy in the surroundings of Istanbul, the northern parts of Kocaeli and Balıkesir, and the eastern parts of Çanakkale. The wind is expected to blow strongly (40-60 km/h) from northern and northeasterly directions.
