Yellow-coded warning for 14 provinces from Meteorology: Heavy downpours and storms to hit many regions
The General Directorate of Meteorology has released its weather report for October 1. While downpours and thunderstorms are expected across the country, precipitation is forecast to be locally heavy in some regions. Meteorology has issued a yellow-coded warning for 14 provinces, while strong winds are expected in the Marmara and Aegean regions.
According to the latest assessments by the General Directorate of Meteorology: The country is expected to be partly to very cloudy, with downpours and thunderstorms forecast for the Marmara region, the southern Aegean, the Mediterranean, the southern and eastern parts of Central Anatolia, the Black Sea (except Amasya and Tokat), and Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia. Precipitation is expected to be locally heavy in the north of Thrace, the Mediterranean, the east of the Eastern Black Sea, the west and northeast of Eastern Anatolia, and the north and west of Southeastern Anatolia.
Air temperatures are expected to remain below seasonal norms across the country.
Winds are expected to blow from the north, and from the south in the eastern parts, light to occasionally moderate, and strong (40-60 km/h) in the Marmara and Aegean regions.
YELLOW-CODED WARNING FOR 14 CITIES
The 14 provinces included in Meteorology's yellow-coded warning map are:
Adana, Adıyaman, Batman, Bitlis, Diyarbakır, Elazığ, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Malatya, Mersin, Muş, Osmaniye, Siirt, and Şanlıurfa.

MARMARA
Partly to very cloudy, with intermittent downpours and thunderstorms expected across the region. Precipitation is expected to be heavy in the vicinity of Kırklareli. Winds are expected to blow strongly (40-70 km/h) from the north and northeast.
