THE NEWBORN GANG INCIDENT

Some newborn babies require intensive care after birth. The gang, which was uncovered following a CİMER complaint, began to exploit this situation and turn the babies' need for intensive care into money.

THEY SENT THEM TO THEIR OWN HOSPITALS

Babies were not being sent to hospitals where they would receive appropriate healthcare, but rather to hospitals chosen by the suspects, who worked in collusion with the 112 Emergency Service and were deemed "profitable for the organization."

According to the indictment, the gang's primary goal was to make more money rather than to heal the babies. However, some of the babies admitted to the neonatal units, which were environments prone to infection, lost their lives because they were kept hospitalized longer than necessary or were directed to this unit when there was no need at all.

The suspects also generated financial gain by illegally selling hospital medications.
