AI winds at the White House: An unexpected move from Trump

It has been claimed that the new US President Donald Trump plans to appoint an AI envoy to the White House.

WHAT WILL THE AI ENVOY DO?

According to a report by Axios, this envoy will be responsible for coordinating federal AI regulations and the government's use of artificial intelligence.

"Will not require Senate confirmation"

It was also stated that Senate confirmation is not required for such a position.

It is noted that the role could be combined with a "Crypto Envoy" position, which is considered separate from the White House "AI Envoy" role.

This position could play a complementary role to the AI officials in agency leadership positions created by the executive order on artificial intelligence issued by President Joe Biden.

"Could shift to centralized management"

However, Trump may also choose a more centralized management model by eliminating these officials and their offices.

ELON MUSK WILL HAVE INFLUENCE

While potential names for this position have not yet been announced, it was noted that Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) leaders Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy will have significant influence over who is appointed to this position.
