ÇYDD Ataşehir branch remembers the February 6 earthquakes: February 6 through the eyes of students

The exhibition by the ÇYDD Ataşehir Branch titled 'FEBRUARY 6 THROUGH THE EYES OF THE ASSOCIATION FOR SUPPORTING CONTEMPORARY LIVING ATAŞEHİR BRANCH' has opened at the Kozzy Shopping Mall in Kozyatağı, Istanbul. Following the 7.7 and 7.6 magnitude earthquakes that occurred on February 6, 2023, students stated that they prepared the exhibition to ensure the destruction in their cities is not forgotten and to shed light on the effects of the disaster. The exhibition, which consists of photographs from the earthquake period, aims to keep the memory of the earthquake disaster alive with frames captured in the earthquake zone, while also delivering a message of solidarity and awareness.

ÇYDD Ataşehir Branch President İlkiz Kulan stated the following regarding the exhibition:

"The February 6 Earthquake Exhibition, which we are organizing for the second time this year, was prepared to commemorate the great disaster and draw attention to the reality of earthquakes. This exhibition, consisting of photographs taken by our students who are earthquake survivors, is presented to visitors to ensure that what happened is not forgotten and to create awareness."

Touching upon their projects, Kulan said:

"Furthermore, as part of our 'There is a Festival in the Village' project, we carried out various activities for a week last year at a village school in the Samandağ district of Hatay, together with three psychologists, one social worker, and 22 university students. We organized workshops for secondary school children, met with the public to provide training, organized morale-boosting evenings, and completed various renovation works at the school."

Emphasizing that they will continue their projects this year, Kulan said:

"This year, we will continue to stand by our students and the people of the region by carrying out similar activities in a different village school with the same spirit of support and solidarity."

The exhibition titled "FEBRUARY 6 THROUGH THE EYES OF THE ASSOCIATION FOR SUPPORTING CONTEMPORARY LIVING ATAŞEHİR BRANCH" opened by the ÇYDD Ataşehir Branch will be open to visitors at Kozzy Shopping Mall between February 3-9 from 12:00 to 16:00.
