Fatih Altaylı's take on Esenyurt: 'The hitman scumbags of that era'

Journalist Fatih Altaylı spoke on his personal YouTube channel regarding the arrest of CHP's Esenyurt Mayor Ahmet Özer.

Criticizing the fact that the Sabah newspaper reported on the trustee to be appointed in Özer's place before the Governor's Office did, Altaylı said, "In the past, the Zaman newspaper would provide the news; now, as I understand it, the Sabah newspaper is doing it."

Altaylı's comments are as follows:

"They are actually appointing a kind of hitman. Turkey has experienced these things. We are not experiencing these for the first time. We experienced them during the FETÖ era. Today, FETÖ is gone, but FETÖ methods remain.

They have learned these methods both in judicial matters and on the administrative side.

In the case opened against me at the beginning of the year, before I had even given a statement, a group of trolls and some so-called journalists—in quotes—who are close to the groups I mentioned, the hitman scumbags of the era, were saying I was going to be arrested, but they changed their minds at the last minute and said I was released with a travel ban and judicial control conditions. I hadn't even given a statement yet.

Everything was clear from the beginning.
