17-year-old Özüm Karataşlı, who lost her life in the hotel fire in Bolu Kartalkaya, has been laid to rest.

Dentist Macit Karataşlı and his family were also caught in the fire. The family, who realized the fire had broken out while they were sleeping, managed to leave the hotel during the great panic. However, the family's 17-year-old daughter, Özüm Karataşlı, went missing after running in a different direction. After the tragedy, the family began searching for their daughter and learned that she had lost her life.

Father Macit Karataşlı described the tragedy they experienced, saying, "My heart is burning, I lost my angel. There were no precautions. There is no fire escape. There is neither an alarm nor a detector. We lowered a bedsheet down. Özüm was staying with her older sisters, and my wife and I were staying together. She woke up and woke us up. Coincidentally, there is an elevator across from the room. When she said, 'Come on, we're going, quickly,' she panicked, ran, and got into the elevator; they all passed away there together."
